Towing vehicle improves customer options

By adding a new towing vehicle into our fleet, Move Smooth have added even more choice and flexibility for customers.

Move Smooth have created new options for customers looking for a little more flexibility and choice, Our new Izuzu box van with 650 cubic feet capacity means customers still benefit from the innovative Move Smooth container based system that gives them the time and option to load themselves over any length of time. However for customers looking for a little assistance on the day the new vehicle is the solution. Simply use the containers to move the bulk of items and save a few things to moving day, bed, TV, microwave, when we collect the continer we can load the final items into the vehicle, so simple and such a great solution for taking the stress out of moving.

Are my contents insured?

Yes, to a value of £15,000 per container whilst in transit or in storage at our depot. Whilst at your premises contents should be covered by your home contents policy, we recommend you check with your insurer.

Additional cover is available upon request and will be subject to additional cost, please ask.

Can I tow the mobile container myself?

Sorry we do not hire mobile containers for self towing. There are too many issues around licencing and insurance weights and traffic regulations. Our aim is to provide an efficient all inclusive service. All our mobile containers are custom built and not available on the open market.

Do we need to be there when the empty container is collected?

Not at all, provided all the equipment is left on board and the keys left inside the unit we will be happy to collect anytime.

Do we need to be at the new address to receive the load?

No not necessarily the security tags will be in place and we will have agreed the position of the trailer beforehand. You will just need to cut the tags of before you can open the doors.

Do we need to be there when the load is collected?

The driver does need to check the load before driving away, it is a legal requirement, and we do like that to happen jointly, also we like to attach the security tags at the same time that you do. However maybe there is a neighbour or friend who could meet the driver for you. If it is not possible to be there at all then we will pick up the load and we can check it as we carry spare keys and we will still put our security tag on but we will need your written permission.

I want to leave some items at other destinations, can this be done?

This is quite common and can be organised beforehand, short drops en-route are easy if the items are accessible in the trailer, Split loads just need a bit of up front planning.

We want to arrange a move not covered by your price list?

Absolutely no problem but we would need to quote that separately to get you the best price and cover all aspects of your move properly.

We live in a difficult position with awkward access, can you help?

Our tow vehicle is a Land Rover Discovery we have four wheel low ratio drive for difficult areas such as farm cottages or unfinished sites and in many cases we can unhitch the mobile container and place it in a good loading position. We would always assess these moves before committing you. Very often we can get places where conventional vehicles can’t.

Who is liable for the rubbish disposal?

Ultimately you are responsible for what is to be disposed of but we use a national company who issue guidelines with the bulk bags and hold an Environment Agency Waste Licence and ISO 9001 &14001 accreditation. We will do all the organising for you.
